# Operating Temperatures

AP-LiDAR-One Gen II is designed to operating in temperatures between **-10 °C to 45 °C**. When operated in an ambient temperature > 40 °C, the metallic surfaces of the sensor may be hot enough to potentially cause skin burn. Avoid skin contact with the sensor’s base, lid and the heatsink when the sensor is operated under these conditions. The sensor should not be used in an ambient temperature above 45°C. The maximum safety certified ambient operating temperature is 45°C.

When the sensor reaches the maximum operating temperature specified below, the sensor may become inactive and shut off.

#### Constant airflow

{% hint style="danger" %}
It is not allowed to operate the sensor without a constant airflow around it.
{% endhint %}

Operation for extended periods of time without a constant airflow around the sensor will result in system errors and the sensor overheating.

When mounted on a drone and while flying, this airflow is provided by the natural motion of the aircraft. Avoid extended periods of time of the sensor powered and the drone standing on the ground before takeoff or after landing.

When operating in static conditions such as sensor setup or configuration, please ensure that a constant airflow is present around the sensor to avoid overheating.

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.aerial-precision.com/ap-lidar-one-user-manual/important-safety-information/operating-temperatures.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
