Last updated 10 months ago

AP-LiDAR-One Gen II is a compact and lightweight LiDAR system that provides on-site point clouds with unmatched performance and versatility.

The system contains an industrial high-grade IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), Dual L1/L5 RTK GNSS receivers and a powerful embedded computer. The system is capable of processing and fusing all measurements into an accurate point cloud while in the field. It also stores all raw measurements on a USB-C flash drive for later post-processing in our iOS app. This post-processing allows for trajectory enhancements using PPK and ground control points to produce even more accurate points clouds with absolute accuracies down to ±3 cm.

It measures only 93x96x104 mm and weight 650 grams.

Main Features

Aerial Mapping

Compatible with most popular drones on the market, take AP-LiDAR-One Gen II to new heights.

650 grams

Experience the ultimate in portability with our ultra-light LiDAR sensor. Take it with you wherever you go and unleash its potential on a variety of drones.

300 m

Extensive LiDAR range to enhance mission performance.

360° x 40° FOV

Generate comprehensive point clouds by capturing every intricate detail with our expansive field of view, guaranteeing nothing escapes your attention.

Triple Return

Ensure complete point cloud coverage of the ground even in the presence of dense vegetation and tree canopies.

± 3 cm accuracy

Achieve precise scans with an exceptional survey-grade accuracy of up to 3 cm.

1.920.000 points/s

Maximise point density by harnessing the full capabilities of our advanced LiDAR unit.

Interfaces and Connectors

Main Interface

This is the main connector of the LiDAR sensor. It is a high density industrial connector that provides power and communication to the sensor. It connects to one of our mounts or interface cables. See the Accessories sections for more information.

AP-LiDAR-One Gen II can be operated in different ways. From mounted on a drone for aerial mapping to directly connected to an iPad for mobile or indoor mapping. Depending on how you will operate the sensor, you might need to change the mount or cable connected to this interface.

GNSS Antennas

AP-LiDAR-One Gen II requires two external Dual-band L1/L5 GNSS active antennas to operate and achieve optimal results. These antennas and cables are included with the sensor and connects to these ports through an Push-Pull connector.

LiDAR Cover Lens

This is the LiDAR sensor window and is considered to be the laser aperture. During operation, the entire cover lens can be regarded as the product's laser emitting window.

USB-C

AP-LiDAR-One Gen II captures its data in a proprietary APScan file that gets stored in an external USB-C Flash Drive. The sensor comes with a 256 GB USB-C Flash Drive that, with a logging rate of 67 Mbps, allows for more than 1 hour of scanned data.

Status LED

This LED indicated the states of operation of the LiDAR sensor and has the following meaning:

Blinking Blue

Sensor loading

Blinking Yellow

GNSS starting and acquiring satellites

Blinking Magenta

Flash drive missing, not ExFAT formatted or busy after recording.

Solid Green

Sensor ready to start LiDAR capture. Standby.

Solid Red

Sensor recording.

REC Button

The REC Button start/stops the capture of the LiDAR data. When the Status LED is green, push to start recording. When the Status LED is red, push to stop recording.

Expansion Port

The Expansion Port enables the attachment of accessories such as RGB colorisation cameras, thermal or multispectral for advanced use cases.
